Just a reminder to people. This past week, I picked up 6 platies for my tank. One of them died within a few hours. Removed him, all's been well. Yesterday, I realised that one of them wasn't looking all that great. Her fins were clamped and her back tail looked like it had been eaten. I'm guessing it was fin rot. Because she was already in the quarantine tank, and I didn't want to lose all of my platies, I put her out of her misery instead of nursing her back to health. Please dont' judge me, what's done is done. I'd rather sacrifice one sick one than lose four healthy.
I'm keeping my fingers crossing that the other 4 won't catch her illness. Hopefully, they can join the rest of my fish in a week. Just a reminder of why it isn't a good idea to stick strange fish in your tank.
