will this light work for a 29g reef???????

Personally, after having a unit, I would stay away from PCs.

If you stick enough PC on top of a tank, you can grow whatever you want (as coral doesn't care what kind of bulbs you're running).

However, I found out the hard way that PC bulbs (which need to be replaced every 6 months) can cost more than the unit.

The 24 inch hamilton unit I had with 4 bulbs would have been $200 every 6 months for bulbs shipped to my house.

Just FYI. :)

Good with DIY?

Two of these bulbs: $30 shipped

Two of these socket/reflectors: $90 shipped

Grand total: $195 shipped.

Of course, you need to wire it up yourself, which is pretty easy, and build a canopy out of wood or somesuch.

Anyway, that's the way I'd go, if I were you. I went with a single 175 on mine, because i got a smoking deal on the equipment.

Almost wish I had gone with a single 250 or dual 175s, but...

Anyway. :)
