Hee hee, just got my new 160g, 5x2x26"
This will be my mixed reef tank.
Going to get lumber right now to build stand frame, build pics will follow.

how on earth do you perform weekly water changes with such a large tank?

You don't need to. Once the tank is established and you have a proper sump, you can go 2, 3 and some people even go 4 weeks before changing water.

I know a couple of people with 300 gal tanks that haven't changed the water in months and the tanks are spectacular.

Basically 10% weekly is only 15g, but I do 20g, especially at first.
I have a decent RO/DI here, couple brutes, no big.
Lucky people here in San Diego get their water free and filtered from Scripps/Birch aquarium by the pier, just pull up and fill up from high pressure spout lickity split!lol
I'm just hair too north to justify time/gas.
And agree, after time we get what we refer to as in "cruise control" on tanks, and can get lazy, but it takes a year or so.
Got my lumber, better get off here and go build frame, pics will follow. :)

Wow grats never seen a 160g.

Oh, and until then, this is my last big tank I built, along w/ cabinet built by me, my 180g
Had alot go down a year and a half ago and had to sell it, but I already have the same African Mahogany and stained glass for a new cabinet.
I'll do a slight different cabinet so it's not going to be a total copy, but it will be pretty similar.
