Woohoo!!!!!! New 150g Tank Score!

Wow! Sounds like it will be astounding. I just recently set up my 72 gallon myself. I thought a 4' tank was big! What are the dimensions of the 150?

BTW I wasn't being sarcastic or anything about the ferns and wood. I just put a bunch of those in my tank as well. I'm sure they will great as will the tank.

If you're interested I'm putting at least 8 rainbows (2 turquoise, 3 australian from another tank and 3 ornates that are already in), a pair of kirbs that are amazing, a young syno catfish, and a school of rosy barbs. Looking forward to seeing your tank soon.

I'll put up pics when its set up for sure. It'll be a while though.

Captian - I know you weren't being sarcastic, so its okay:) You're setup should be really sweet too. I'm going to be adding 6-8 Triafasciata's (Goyders) and 6-8 Boesmanis.

As for the footprint, I believe it is 72X18X24.

Dangerdoll - Good timing is right! This was so coincidental, especially because we would have never seen the add had some one at Chris' work not gotten sick on Wednesday. So chris went in. And he was supposed to work yesterday (so we wouldn't have gone out) but he took it off since he worked Wednesday.

Wow Goyders and Boesmanis will look great! I think they are 2 of the larger rainbowfish types right? They'll certainly have enough swimming room in a tank that size!

I'm still hoping to one day get a digital camera or even get around to taking some 35mm pics of my tanks. Oh well looking forward to seeing your tank up and running. Is it replacing any of your current tanks or are you still keeping them all going?

Yes, they get kind of large. Generally between 4-5 inches...Mine are about 4" right now and are still broadening and lengthening just a tad.

A couple people have said "How can you get boring little fish for a tank that big?"...They apparently haven't seen rainbowfish  I figure here is as good a place as any. I can't wait to have a bunch of these guys swimming around!!:D Here's one of mine...

Yes, I love my camera. Interestingly, I only use it for pet stuff :o

The tank won't replace anything. We had discussed putting the 55g inhabitants into this tank and expanding/adding to them, then moving the 29g fish into the 55g and adding, then getting new fish for the 29g. But I think I just want to start fresh on the 150g...

There it was. A 150g tank, solid oak stand with canopy (I'd have preferred the fake black, but that's okay).
You could always paint it. Since you said it'll be a little while before you get it setup, you should have plenty of time to spruce it up. I'm actually planning on doing the same very soon to a much smaller setup. That light oak color just wont do anymore.

BTW, nice catch! Lucky you!!

Haha - Not that I've found, doll!:D

Az - Yah, I think I'm planning on it. It'll be a slight pain since I'll have to sand it down and stuff, but I think it would be worth it. I prefer the contrast of the dark black against the lit tank - especially because it will be all planted and black makes green *pop* more than tan does.

I gotta say, I adore your avatar because those are the funniest skits ever!

Nothing pulls you into a tank, really pulls you in like a big tank with small fish. With decent aquascaping of course, but its you and we know you'll set it up sweet! Awesome score!

Your dimensions are correct btw.
