Woot! got me some Peacock Gudgeons 1.99 each!

went to my local petsupermarket and they had some peacock gudgeons and the guy said they were paradise fish for 1.99. So I bought all they had which was only 6... but they are awesome. I have always wanted some since I saw them at petsmart for 10.99(clearance price).

Anyhow 1 is looking gravid already and they have already been showing spawning behavior. So i threw in some 1/2 pipe(thanks AC members for the tip).

NOT FAIR!!!!! i almost bought the only ones ive seen in the last few months. ughh dixie something had them. it was like 18 bucks for 6. it was a good deal but i just cant handle having more fish right now. if it were 1.99 now that would be a new story.

Good find. That are about that price wholesale from my friend's supplier if he orders a bunch of them, otherwise they are like 2.79/fish. I just ordered 3 and I paid much more than that retail.

They're not hard to spawn, but are you sure the one is gravid and not just fat? All 3 of mine are already really fat because they go around eating anything they can find out of the substrate.

Not sure what all the white dots are from, my glass isn't that clean but it's not that dirty either, so I think it was my cellphone's lense or something.

no idea if one of them is really gravid, but heres a closer macro shot of the stomach. I've read that the stomach will turn a distinct yellow color, I have my fingers crossed
