Working out, works for you?

At the moment I am injured because I just had surgery on my meniscus(knee) which i am doing PT forand a torn labral(shoulder)which I am also trying to heal:wall:, but I used to do upper body one day like bench and curls and then bottom like squats and leg press and other things through out the week. Every day included a abs, 3 mile run, pick up basketball and club volleyball as well!

BTW I did the "300" work out for a week straight and that was enough.. lol hard stuff :22_yikes:

I reached as high as 180 lbs after Christmas/New Year and have gotten down to 160 since then. Mostly by eating better. Not perfect, but counting calories isn't too hard and I've lost weight. I got a gym membership this year through my school and I've been going twice a week. I do 20-25 minutes on the threadmill or Bike and then weight lifting. I actually have tabs opened right now on Basal metabolic rate and Creatine. I got a job at GNC on Sunday, so I'm trying to educate myself. :)

I am a fairly healthy eater by nature, so my main workout is to run at least 5 miles as often as I can during the week (usually 3-4 days). If I can't run I do pilates or, surprisingly, the Wii Fit. I love the strength training and yoga stuff that the Wii Fit has. :)

^^ Be careful with the creatine.. Needs a lot of stuff to go along with it like sugar, protein, WATER etc. If you dont drink enough you dehydrate yourself and it doesn't do anything...

I was researching it for work, not for myself. But that's good advice I can give customers, thanks.

I used to do 3 x a week but being old I am down to 1 x a week . I do some running, hard walking in between the running, bench press 100lb x100 with leg lifts x 100 in between. Then lying on my back on a bench I curl behind my head 50 lb x 50 then stand and curl 50 lb x25 then back on the bench for another 50 lb curl behind the head and finish with another 50lb x 25 curl standing up and then a straight lift of 50lb x 25 from arms lowered then up to my chin.
Workout usually takes about 45-50 minutes.

Works for me , after all I am 54 :)
Plus my work is usually pretty physical ,I will usually find something to do at work to keep moving , don't spend a lot of time sitting at the desk :)

Swim practice is my workout. Helps me out a LOT!
We swim something like 3,000-4,000yds in a practice i Think, but swim season hasnt started yet and i cant quite remember from last years season.

I contract for a large fitness center here. I can't say enough about how great it is to drop off 3 kids for up to 2 hours a day for FREE!
I do Taekwondo 1-2 times a week, yoga 1x a week, weights 2x a week, and nightly walks for 2 miles.
Please don't forget how good weight training is, especially for women. Calcium alone is not enough to prevent osteoporosis.

I was a swimmer pretty much my whole life through college... Its probably the best calorie burning workout you can do... I remember in hs my club coach was a psycho and would get us up to 10,000 yards in a practice because she was more into distance workouts. I was more of a middle distance guy.

I got bored of going to the gym and doing the same run, elliptical, weight routine. So two years ago I tried brazilian jiu jitsu. Never looked back. Its a great workout for your core if you do it at least 3 times a week. If you get good at it then you will be addicted. I made a lot of new friends and found a new lifestyle in it as well. For you guys out there (and a few girls) who want to try something new and want to learn how to fight (on the ground) do yourself a favor and try it. Its not for everyone. Some people hate it and never come back after the first class, and some people do it 5 days a week for the rest of their lives.

Other things I do to stay in shape are surfing and just running for the endorphin rush. when I was in costa rica for a good part of the summer i was surfing twice a day for over a month and man, was I lean from that.

Brandy, your workout sounds awesome.
