would you buy one of these fish?

I will probably get flack for this, but i see nothing wrong with it. The fish were not put through a harmful ordeal to become colored like that. It was done genetically. As long as the fish are still healthy, thriving animals.

It probably doesn't bother me because i have studied genetics for years and been involved in many projects that deal with isolating genes, mutations and gene expression.

I don't think these fish would look good in a natural looking tank, but i would put them in their own uniquely decorated tank.

The downside is that i think these types of fish appeal mostly to those who want to keep fish because they "look cool" leading to more fish being kept in uncycled tanks that are too small for them. For that reason alone I think they are more of a negative than a positive.

I am going to have to agree with Manna. I would probably by one. I already have hybrids from hybrids and I love them. This looks like another way to engage the aquatic community.

Just like any other abomination such as Parrotfish or Glofish, not in my tanks, but if a customer wants them, whatever.

nah. i dont really like how they look. ill stick with regular angels.

I think that playing with genetics just because we can is going to get us in the end. There was not a reason in the world except to make money, to change those fish genetics. Greed is the root of all evil.

But conversely greed is also the aspect of human behaviour which is responsible for us having moved out of caves. Wanting to improve one's position is not innately evil. Methods are how that judgement should be made.

I don't neccessarily equate wanting to improve one's position to actual greed. There are many degradations in between.

:"Greed is the root of all evil" is an absolute statement that doesn't leave much wiggle room.
