LOL. I've never emptied a tank, but I did overflow one. The bad part is that I was distracted by trimming plants IN THE SAME TANK!
:wall:
LMAO!!!

Thanks for that - funniest thing I've heard all day!!

Kinda reassuring that those that have been around for a while make the same kinda mistakes us noobs do (well I do anyway!!) :grinyes:

I would NEVER call you old - I think we exactly the same age!!

You just managed to get WAY more experienced than me, (maybe you were before you started too?), since we both joined in May! It's taken ME this long to cycle a tank!! LOL

I feel much older than I am... lol

Nope, I joined this site because I was going insane with sick and dying fish. I knew NOTHING and was basically an aquatic serial killer. Guess I'm a little OCD. Went from that one tank to 6 in 4 months... :uhoh:

Probably the wrong thread to put this in, but hey, I think we established that no-one here is going to drink from their tanks any time soon!! At least not when sober or without a significant financial reward!!

Is THIS anything like the Python?

http://mikesfishing.com/sinkpump/

You've all got me totally fascinated by them now - I've looked them up in NZ, some people say we have them, some say we don't...

That one there just seems like an awful waste of water having to have your tap on full blast!! Is it the same with the Python?

"basically an aquatic serial killer"

Should we be afraid?? *twilight zone music*

it is the same thing as a python, but you don't have to waste tap water when you are draining the tanks. you can just start the siphon and drain out a door or window, or into the bathtub. if you have high water pressure it can make the water change go a lot faster by pulling water out of the tank more quickly than just gravity would, but if water pressure is low it will be about the same or slower. one really good thing about it is if you have a tank that is very low to the ground, those can be a little more difficult to drain.
