WTH is going on with my tank?!?! Disappearing fish and a sick(?) green neon...

They are such small fish they won't leave much bones. I was moving gravel and found the piece was an unknown skull today, and that could only have been a larger fish. The cory could manage to eat the remains, I assume, even if shrimp were not there yet.

do you have any pets? I only ask because I had disappearing fish once in my saltwater tank (not topless). then one day, I came into the living room and my dachshund was eating my orchid dottyback.... He somehow managed to fit in the space between the filter outlet (HOB style) and the lid. It was like a half inch gap. I guess that was all he needed. I am sure my dachshund ate the other fish and they just jumped out or something. I like you, sifted through my tank. No inverts at the time. No bones, no trace. Nothing.

No pets, just two kids - neither on likes sushi :). Like I said, very weird. The washed out neon is still swimming and schooling fine. I'm going to try and get either a 10 or a spare 29 I have lying around up this weekend, pull the fish (corys for sure) and treat for parasites. Anyone have experience with Clout?

I'd like to know what you're feeding your fish?

And danios disappear all the time without a trace. Likely a cory got to him and his skeleton broke apart and you sucked it up little by little without knowing it. The cory disappearing is something else. I had 7 baby skunk cories vanish on me. No trace at all. Wish you the best of luck.

The fish get a variety diet - Tetra flake and granules, Omega One flake, freeze-dried bloodworms. Bottom feeders get one of three tablets, either Tetra "Rich Mix", Hikari Algae Wafers, or Aqueon bottom feeder tablets. Once a week or so I feed them frozen bloodworms, thawed in a cup of tank water before adding to the tank.

Typically the guppys and tetras get a pinch of flakes dispersed underwater (the tetras don't seem to like coming to the surface to feed, from what I've read this seems to be normal) and the corys/shrimp/snails get one tablet. Feedings are once per day. I try to vary the diet in hopes that they get a good mix of nutrition.

Oh, and I realize now that the subject title seems a little panicky - I'm more interested in figuring out what is happening, not really all wild-eyed over it :)

Flake (either Tetra or Omega One, I have both kinds) every day, maybe every 3rd day I give them freeze-dried bloodworms instead. Every week or two I spoil'em with the frozen bloodworms - everyone goes bananas for them, even the shrimp and snails.

Flakes are definitely the staple and I've seen both the tetras and the guppys eating - the guppys are pigs, truth to be told.
