Science = Chuck Norris and Mr. T combined with Godzilla after it ate a nuclear waste facility. I have yet to find a scenario where science has failed us. And if you bring up myths or UFOs or religion, I will state that science will eventually prove or disprove them. All good things take time.
 
People don't like 'science' because it's such a broad word. 'Scientists' are seen as people in lab coats staring into a test tube, and being smarter than everyone else. People don't like, or at least are not willing to trust, other people that are 'smarter' than themselves.
