Zebra Danio Fry!

Update: Some of the fry are now free-swimming in the water. Others are still stuck to the glass, which I believe means they are still in their egg yolk. I believe all the actual eggs have hatched. I also went ahead and threw in the guppy grass from my main tank.
My questions above still stand.

Aww... Aren't they cute? They are probably around a few millimeters, my best guess.
Thanks,
Brian

Are those for sponge filters? I only have HOBs. Should I get a sponge or is there something else I can do with an HOB?

There are sponges that can be used on any HOB intake. LFS should carry them.

I have also heard of using a sock to cover the intake, is that good?
Thanks,
Brian

Or could I put a fabric filter bag over the intake? The kind that you fill with charcoal stuff.
Thanks,
Brian

Ok, I found a piece of foam that was acting as a large particle filter in another filter, so I took it and fastened it over the intake with some unwaxed dental floss. Now I just need to figure out food. Like I said, I have the plant and the filter in there; will that house enough infusoria for until they can eat crushed flake? Or is there something else I need to do before then?
Thanks,
Brian

I really do not think there is enough infusorium from the filter and plants. Some of the fry may survive, but maybe only a few. You really need to provide them with food.

Just thought of this== Try mashing a few flakes with a little water into a semi paste. Use an eye-dropper and give them a few drops mixed with more water, see if that will works.

Tough to play catch-up after getting frys and trying to save them. What you learn this time, you will be more prepared the next time.

Mmm, flake paste. I'll give that a shot, I'll update here with results.
Thanks so much,
Brian
