Thanks Buddy. I've never been big on eels myself but I admit to liking the Zebras and Snowflakes. They just won't work in my little 55g.

If you in mind to do an eel, your a number of choices that grow not larger then 2'. The only problem there is you cannot be having so many other fish.
This is where the research beforehand would have come in handy, if you'd done it. You may trust the lfs, but that doesn't mean you should take there word as beyond repute. Always research before buying!! You're eel will not be o.k. in your tank. Not only will it's physical growth be stunted, it's psychological health will also be compromised. You're attitude of 'I'm not taking my tank apart to get it out', is imho irresponsible. I hope you will reconsider this and give this incredible fish the respect and home it deserves.
On a seperate note. Old man, I understand that you are disappointed about not being able to talk with Robert Fenner, but I don't think this gives you the right to rip his life's work apart. The man has done more for this hobby than most people could ever hope to achieve and I for one am glad that his advice is readily available. If he was a 'fake' as you have suggested, he would have been revealed as such a long time ago. I very much doubt he would have been able to fool people at the top of his profession for more than 20 years if this was the case. There are many reasons why he may not have been able to talk to you. I acknowledge that you are very experienced with Eels and therefore likely have greater understanding of this group of fishes than most anyone. However, I'm sure you wouldn't deny that there are areas of this hobby where even you are still lacking in knowledge/experience. Bob Fenner has never professed to 'know everything', and I'm certain that he would be the first to admit that he still has a lot to learn. Thats the beauty of this hobby. You can spend a lifetime studying and gaining experience, and still be surprised!

Nah, I won't be getting any. There are many other things I'd get over them. I'll leave the eels to those that really have a special place in their heart for them and have big tanks for them.
I doubt that im ripping his life apart work apart as you say for also, im in question if what is in his books and link is really him or not and that disappointing first meeting with him gives me doubts on that if its really him. Also not forget something here Shark, your no idea on who is at the other end of the keyboard, it could be even a women who is giving advise to others. If you and others think of him as some godly figure just because his name has been about for some years, you and others are welcome to continue as so for I mean this in some nice way for I my reasons for saying this.
I had been answering every type of eel question you can think of and I wasn't picky as one person I know. I not however seen every suggestion that fenner has giving for I not waste time in doing something as that for it matters not to me that others believe him or not for I only question who the people are really believing in.
Also before I was to talk with him back then, he was talking of a SFE to one before me, I not heard everything
Also, it not matter to me for I will not be asking him any eel question, for that matter for im with people like here and a few other forum links who I can witness their true levels of knowledge, like Mr.Firemouth for one.
I took the time to answer some things in word pad and I had a little computer problem and lost the remanding message, I cannot recover what they were and I will say just this, i have no issues here with anything, not even with this and I not meant for this to go on as it is, so hope you all have a good night
I just remember one thing I am missing that it was to do on a large octopus and sharks, that I wasn`t a bit surprised when a city aqaurium zoo placed a large octopus withen their shark tanks and that shark were turning up dead, I was only surprised that they had no idea in what they were doing by placing the octopus with the sharks. :headshake2:

Not if he answers simple things in pubic talk and who will question who is really behind the keyboard and books, for it can be most anybody doing that. That was like something that RC once done wrong, they took other peoples picture and claimed they were his own and one at that meeting recognized his photos and jump making his claim and the staff member at RC cut the meeting short and ran out the back door. So only in public they can make there errors and not at there links or books.

Sure there were, his giving the same excuse just not to answer with his own personal view to the subjects I only wanted to make some comparison on for I said that he keep saying after I finished what I wanted to talk with him about, and after I finished each time, he made the same excuse to see if his books came and I learned about that he shipped the books and that they wouldn't make it to the store that same day. Young Lady, if you want to judge my knowledge (Being that im a stupid idiot to you) simply due to my crappy typing, you can for it matters not to me on what you think or do after my personal views on the eel. But the bottom line there as well is that it's simply just your excuse not to look to upgrade in later years. Also, I not look to insult anyone, it not mean that you couldn't be somewhat respectable about it.
Another thing is that I have been hearing it and admitting it as well that my typing stinks to high heaven which was why I was looking for some link that they could help editing it for me so that it would look halfway decent>
Also know that I spoken to Niko on that my typing not good at all and once my reef tanks are completed and ready to stock that I will start a stocking/maintenance records of these tanks and he volunteered to assist me in editing my typing errors and its not because im some stupid idiot.
