Zebra Pleco

Flagfish,

Get a couple of those Zebras. If they look like em and the store says thats what they are then treat em like Zebras. I will be jealous because I would love to own a Zebra Pleco. I don't even dare to spend the money on an Emperor Pleco. Maybe one day when I am rich and famous. :thm:

Yes tai95, I realize he needs to know all that. But you don't have to accuse people of intentionally trying to lie and misrepresent things.

"Why do people feel the need to lie so much on this forum? http://www.l46.de is a zebra pleco forum. It does has a list of breeders and the prices of zebra plecos at LFS and breeders. The cheapest one is 60.00 Euro ($77.00 US) for a 3cm fish. So if your LFS sells them for 10 you should buy them all and sell them. Next time post a picture that can't be back tracked to the original site and you may get away with your lie!"

I'm sorry, I just didn't think it was neccesary to accuse flagfish of lying.

No hard feelings?:)
The fact is he 'Did' mis-respresent/lie by implying either intentionally or inadvertently the pic as being a pic of 'the' Zebras from his LFS.
I think from his subsequent response that it was a intentional mis-representation/lie.
I think from here on out anything posted by Flagfish will taken with a seed of doubt sown into it (atleast by me.), trust is one of the hardest things to re-establish.

But to answer the primary question. . . .
Zebras IMO should be kept in a species tank.
The tank should ideally be set up as a fast flowing river environment, a decor of flat and rounded rock/slate with plentyy of nooks/crannies to shelter/hide in.
They need a meaty diet, Zebras are one of the few primarily carnivorous Plecos.
It is also my opinion that if at all possible they should be bred if kept, due to the diminishing wild stocks and problems with collection.
Breeding would doing the species a great favor and can be a very lucrative enterprise.

I'm sorry, at that time I hadn't looked into Flagfish's other posts. and I was a tad bit grumpy that day... So, I think I'll just steer clear of threads where people may be dishonest.
