Have you tried a anti-algae solution? Use it as a last resort

If the OP does use one of them he will never be able to keep invert's in his tank.

What about Co2? Algae thrives in tanks with fluctuating levels of Co2.

Yeah I know that it is, but I was told that the extra DIY CO2 would be helpful until I get my pressurized co2.

I'd do away with the DIY CO2 and start cutting your lights. You'll want to manually remove as much BBA as possible first. Reducing the amount of time your lights are on everyday really helps get the stuff in check.

Lupin, I wish your nerites would teach my nerites to eat BBA! Mine won't touch the stuff. Probably tastes as gross as it looks.
