the blue tint is not an altered fish, unless you consider selective breeding a form of altering.

Blue is a common color in many angels.

my P. Scalare (Peru) have blue highlights in the dorsal and ventral fins and also in the crest.
I agree, blue angels are no more an altered fish than blushing, platinum or koi angels for example.

BH however, does not improve the red pigment colour to the discus.
This, I wasn't really sure about. I remember reading somewhere that a Discus breeder used BH to restore faded color (mostly reds) to his fish. This may just have been a special formulated/enhanced beef heart food just for Discus. Probably added cyclopeeze or a similar additive to the formula.

Thanks, but it's probably just the lighting. ;) He was chillin' in the shade. I do swear by the spirulina, however.
