Folks, I think that it was the plan of the Old Mafia to get the townies to lynch themselves by tying townie posts/votes to any mafium who may have posted or voted in proximity to a given townie. When a mafium was identified, I believe that the plan was to tie innocents (or competing mafium) posting or voting around the same time as the mafia member to the said member, and have the townie (or competing mafium) subsequently lynched...

Here Z first brings up the idea of 'clusters.' Sploke called him on it as mafia, and I told Z that if not mafia, it sure looked anti-town to me...

Also, early is better in my mind as it leaves more time for discussion. That said I'll toss out an early suggestion in hopes of increasing discussion. Last night when I was posting lists of who had yet to post I noticed people appeared in clusters. jpappy, joander, Mad, and sploke were one. Plantling, DC, Lady, and Sway were the other. Of course I have no expectations that these folks are all Mafia, it was just an observation.

Now Hooked Newbie is interested in exploring clusters....

I'm curious about the "grouping of posts" that Z noted. If there is a closer parallel with timestamps taken into account, it could be a good start considering there's not much info out there yet.

Glad to see we are still in discussion on these cluster posts that keep popping up. I noticed it in other games before but this game has been full of them. No one will post for hours then suddenly two or three folks post within a few minutes of one another. Like a meeting just let out.

Right around the time that Swayde is lynched we see the 'cluster plan' go into effect.

Before Swayde is lynched, Ice chimes in about the Swayde's upcoming lynch...

Not that I don't want to be associated. I don't want to be looked at as the one that started it. Someone had to put in a vote, just because I wasn't scared to get some discussion going I shouldn't be penalized. Its a 1st day vote. No body knows anything. I do agree as you get further into the game a 1st vote can tell lots,especially when you can start grouping people together due to voting patterns.

I wanted people to know that its easier for the mafia to get a train rolling after a vote is placed since there are more of them. Lets say Sway is innocent. The mafia see my vote then see 2 more people jump on. They each throw 2 voters in. Thats 7 votes already. Thats enough to be considered a train and the rest just follow because they have no better suspect.

We're all accountable as we all have our votes on Sway.

Here sometime shortly before Swayde is lynched, Hooked Newbie also begins clustering.

If you're Innocent then I think we really need to look hard at those that voted for you later and especially in a cluster (Mad 144 DD 145 Jo 149 DC 152) and those that removed their votes. No vote KOTD? I'm not convinced of your innocence or guilt, but if mafia cool. If not, you're death won't be in vain.

Well carp. Looks like the Old Mafia are as good this game as the FBI were last game I hate that we lost Sway though, I really did think she had slipped up and shown herself. I guess we can expect that some Mafia are on the sway train and some are probably spread over the other candidates??? I know KOTD is high on my list for removing his vote, and DC and DD as well.

Lady g (168) voted for Sway and then jpappy (169) voted Sway the very next post. These were the last two votes on her.

Ice is again 'clustering' after the Swayde's lynching. Ice points out that JPap voted right after LadyG.

Want to also point out that LG and Jpap voted right after one another 15 minutes apart. LG was mafia.....

Now Z votes for JPap..

If I don't do it now the trains will start and no one will even discuss my posts.

Well folks, that sucked and didn't. Sorry Swayde! I was never convinced, but oh well... I'll miss the slurpees. At least they are killing themselves again!

Since Jo was my vote tonight and appears in this list...

Let's not all jump on anybody in particular. We need discussion. Obviously the massive voting for one person is the wrong thing to do and can't possibly help out the town. I'd like to ask for everyone's top 3 or so and why. My vote isn't in stone yet and I'll move it if another "train" forms.

Ok, I'll take the blame then. Better to get votes out early for discussion and reaction than to wait to the end. I'd like to hear from anone who voted for Swayde, especially those that voted so closely together.

Here's a quote from Ice where he seems to defend Z and HN for their 'onesie' votes. Also mentions JL...

I wouldn't read to much into votes on other people this early into the game. People like Z and HN are famous for parking their vote on someone they are pretty sure are mafia and staying there. They aren't ones to just follow to often. Jl is the same way.

Now as for the other 3, it goes back to the NEW mafia. Sway could be a Don and is trying to find a way to spread the votes so her team members aren't shown as following or distancing.Wata and Sploke are 2 I mentioned could be new mafia along with Sway. You're the 4th team member and this could be a distancing tactic.

I'm starting to think my lists have merit and I might dig a bit deeper if Sway is in fact mafia.

Finally after KOTD outs Ice as mafia, Hooked Newbie is acting irritated that everyone is interested in only talking about that. Even tries to get people to stop discussing an extremely important issue to the town, and just move on to talking about the following day's lynch...Huh? Any reason that he might be trying to do that? The KOTD/Ice thing was a BIG deal, and HN wants folks to just move on...

TY, I've been trying to get discussion going to no avail. Seems as though everyone is content with just 2 possibilities. KOTD seems on the up and up, but there are a few things that seem "over the top" to me (including the avatar change) so I can't be sure. Right now it might not matter, but I think I've got my vote on mafia. If we can get a good list of suspects with rational if/thens we can put ourselves in good shape.

So to all the townies... IF the Ice / KOTD thing weren't ongoing and attracting all the attention, who would you suspect and why?

Some of the quotes may be slightly out of order, as it was kind of a bear to dig thru the thread and find them...With that said, though, I'm kinda liking Hooked Newbie as Old School mafia.

So we have two known innocents. We also have the mafia killing each other. I think without the Don a mafia group no longer gets the benefit of investigating. I am not sure.

Is it my understanding that our Mystery Player can be innocent or mafia.

I also want to see more of who was connected to ZS. I thought he seemed mafia, but then the whole Ice thing happened.

I would like to see some posting or insight from our newest player. I think you have been asked if you have been following the game.

I agree that as of right now Swayde is suspect, but I'm concerned about an overwhelming train forming that would negate any more info. At this point I'm a bit curious about jpappy and Jo. Jpappy for nothing more than a feeling (and, no I'm not pulling a CL) his posts just seem to be in odd "clusters". Jo, because to be caught up and miss the reason for Ice's vote seems very odd. That has been the focus of most of the actual non-chit chat converation. To keep discussions going....

My top two are MP and HN.

I will make a scaled list tomorrow during the day.

The hitting of ZS is a great benefit to the town. I think we can find some things there. I also want to make sure I know who was old and who was new. I also want to put my suspects as either old or new. I think we can see some friendships formed.

Also, good job Doctor, I am fairly sure one of the group tried to hit KOTD. Please keep protecting KOTD.

With two known innocents, I think it put us in a great position. I also think if KOTD finds a power role, he should just say innocent.

The "Snitch". One of the Mafia is a Snitch. Since their cousin Vinny was ousted by the Mafia last year, they feel some revenge is needed. The Snitch does not reveal his identity to anybody, not even the Don, except by me upon their death. The Snitch will PM me a list of 3 names, their choosing, whenever I ask. At least one member of this list will be a Mafia member.These names will be worked into the night time story line. Innocents do not want to kill the snitch too early, and the Mafia want him gone quickly...maybe, depends on their plans.

The Kidnapping...after night #1, the Kidnapper can PM me to remove a player for one day cycle (until the next night is over). If the kidnapped victim is on that nights lynch or hit, or investigation, nothing will be revealed. If the kidnapper is on that nights lynch or hit, the kidnap will fail. The kidnapped person will not be able to post in the thread until I have released him. The kidnapper can not reveal their identity to anyone!

The Mystery Person...they join the game after the events of game night #2. They will show innocent on any investigation. A random generator will decide if an Innocent or a Mafia, and what team they may be on.

These three things have me curious.

1) I am guessing that there is a snitch in each group.

2) We have no idea of how long rbishop will keep a kidnapped player out.

3) The MP shows up as innocent if investigated.

The Kidnapping...after night #1, the Kidnapper can PM me to remove a player for one day cycle (until the next night is over). I'm thinking Coler...in the Werewolf signup thread he says that he'd be travelling thru August 31....that might explain the late start.

Sploke is the best target on the list i've been whining about it since before you outed yourself. He is new school mafia methinks. However, in light of recent developments HN is looking good as an investigation option. I'm glad they hit Z for us he would have been hard to lynch methinks.
