DD, the more I think about it, the more I believe that there is no guarantee that the kidnapped victims come back innocent. I realize with GGF that I said I thought otherwise, but I now think kidnapped victims can be turned before rejoining the village.
While the rules for kidnapper aren't entirely clear, it doesn't make sense that Ice would make it so easy for the vamps to kill the kidnapper. Everyone knows who the victim is, including the vamps....why would Ice give them such an easy 2-for-1 deal on a kill/turn?
We're assuming that when a kidnapped victim returns to the village, that if the kidnapper is alive, the victim is still innocent. I don't think that's a guaranteed thing. The more I think about it, the more I think that the vamps would need to hit the 'new' kidnapped victim on a given night in order to kill the kidnapper.
So, while we can't be positive that the victims return to the village innocent, we at least know that they were innocents when they were kidnapped. While it would be better if they were guaranteed innocents when they returned, we at least have the ability to go back and try to see who was actually pushing to have an innocent lynched.
So after all of that, we can't necessarily trust Sploke (or GGF for that matter) to be innocents when they return.
