Aiptasia - Anyone tried this?

Joe's Juice does work but you have to realize that you can have one little piece growing somewhere in your tank that will eventually turn into an Aiptasia. I have found in my own system that I have been unsuccessful in completely eliminating the little buggers. I have recently found some larger ones that were hidden back in-between rock groupings.. I'm hoping these were the major spawners and have at least gotten them out of the tank. It really is amazing where they can spawn and what nooks and crannies they can get into and survive.

hth.

I'd love a Copperband but aren't they notouriously bad feeders? Don't know anyone who's got one so can't get any personal advice. Don't want to get one and then have it starve to death.

I think I've got indestructable Aiptasia. I have two. One is very large and the other quite small. The large one I have squirted with Joes Juice, Boiling water, lemon juice, lime juice and even mixed all of the above. It'll shrivel up and a week later it's back. Exact spot exact same size. The smaller one I hit with Joes Juice the other day and now I notice that one's back:wall:

Its amazing isn't it.. I think I'm gonna make my sig Aiptasia Hunter.. :)

I get lucky and the ones that grow on the sand I just take out by hand the ones that grow on the LR I just either chip away with a hammer and chisel or throw some peppermints in the tank.

I'd personally not get a Copperband for the sole reason of using it for aiptasia control. If your tank is appropriate for one and you want a Copperband because you want that type of fish and are aware of it's needs then fine you may have great aiptasia control as well.
