Just pulled out the hagen ladder, changed over my co2. Now running through an airstone into the intake of my eheim 2026. A tried and true method. Probably gonna have to drop down from 3 2L to just 2, but I'll keep an eye on my drop checker.

Now, if I can only remember to feed the yeast every 10 days until I can rig up a bubble counter.

So I need to add sugar to my DIY CO2 setup every 10 days? How much? Darnit, just when I thought I knew what I was doing. LoL

Im with you on this, never heard you should re-open your mix and add sugar... But it sounds like a good way to keep your mix more power full and even.

So how much sugar do you add? And by the way, why did you got rid of the ladder, is diffusing trough the eheim really more effective?

Ok, so, I have a yeast colony. I use champagne yeast, it stays at the bottom of the bottle. About every 10-14 days, I open the bottle, pour off a bunch of liquid, then add 2 more cups of sugar and more water. I just reuse the yeast.

That's the feeding part. Some people don't do this.

As far as diffusion, it is better through the eheim than the ladder. Only a couple of days and I can tell a big difference.
