nem short for anemone, that makes sense..
We have some very beautiful ones over here, but the attractive ones are not hardy and need cleaner, colder water and more light than I could give them.
The nem I have tolerates poor water conditions and doesnt need any light from what I have read, which makes sense as I found it under a rock near the high tide mark in a mangrove grove. However I will keep an eye on it and try and keep the water as clean as poss.
I have been feeding it bits of squid and it appears to have grown already
I have been having second thoughts about the purple crab as I find the creatures in the tank are fascinating if not a little dull looking.. I dont like the thought of them being terrorized by a big purple monster crab.
this shrimp is very funny to watch, it pushes around crabs twice its size and even tries in vain to nick the nems food
this crab is terrified of the shrimp but it learnt to associate me with food after the first feeding, pretty smart little guy
this crab spends most of its time underwater
another underwater crab
There are a couple of crabs that live on the land but they are still very timid.
here is a slightly amphibious snail vampie, but I bet the ones you had in mind are more interesting, are they tropical?
this crab is the most colourful, but compared to the other drab crabs thats not saying much..
they may not look too flash but they have nice personalities
heres the big guy of the tank, he is becoming tamer and comes out to be hand fed
its huge claw makes a sound like a firecracker, I would name it Thor but that would be unfair to the fish, frog and cat so I named it pistol shrimp..
