building a moss wall for a 125 gallon tank

How about a update on that moss wall? By the way, about three weeks ago I attempted a moss wall which seemed ok for about a week or two and then seemed to die off. Yet the rest of the moss that I have growing in the tank that I didn't put behind the wall is doing fine. Any body know why?

It has two 40 watt bulbs on a 55g tank, but I know one of the bulbs is weak and should be replaced. It had already turned brown when I added 136ultra bright LED's. Do you think I should just try it again?

i dont think leds will grow anything..

2 40 bulbs over a 55g is only 1.5wpg and to have the moss wall grow successfully in that lighting, I think it would have to be in direct light.

Try upping the light to atleast 2wpg. that extra .5wpg makes a big difference. Also make sure the bulbs are in good working condition and in the right K rating

I will pick up a new bulb before I give it a try again, but I think my LED's will provide more than enough light for a moss wall. The one I bought is a high quality 46" Ecolight with 138 ultra bright wide angle led with 12 ultra bright wide angle blue lunar lights(150 total). It only consumes 14.4 watts with a 6000K color temp. "K" or Kelvin rating of 5,000 to 5,500 is a good estimate to simulate a noon sun in most tropical environments. High quality LED's, not the low quality ones are said to be the new thing in lights with out the high heat output. Check out web.

update time. moss is now 3-4 inches. still some empty patches around the edges. here ya go.
