My freshly made pond

Terrific pond! You'll have a lot of fun with it. But it is way, way too small for koi, trust me. Koi grow up to 24" in length, and need deep water to swim in, around three feet deep. David is right about the gallon requirement, too. I mistakenly bought my koi a few years ago (he was in a Comet tank), and he has grown to about 12" so far already. Thankfully I found a friend with a huge pond that is willing to take him. I've just been dragging my feet, I hate to part with him. I had better do it soon though, otherwise he will be too big for a ziploc baggy to transport him in, lol.

My water is 3 feet deep, but I'll try to buy 5 goldfish for it, because it is at least 200 gallons.

not sure, but the lil black goldfish you see in pet stores will change color and turn orange. Got a lil black feeder myself and it turned out orange.

Not so much a "cool story", but something you should take into account when you stock it.

One thing I really enjoy about AC is that people will tell the truth. This is not to put others down but to help each other improve our skills and knowledge and avoid costly mistakes. We are all learning and this forum is a great place to help each other do that. I've noticed if someone has done well, everyone will give them props, but if you are looking for someone to blow sunshine up your, well you know what I mean, this is not the place.
