no I am not dumb enough to intentionally feed them chocolate...

but my little nephew was over here earler and thought it wold be a good idea to feed my cichlids a reeses peanut butter cup

half of it was consumed before I could get it out

are they gonna die?

I know dogs cant eat chocolate... but what about fish?

anything I can do?

I have no idea, I just wanted to say this is the best question I have read during the few months I have been a member here:)

i know cichlids aren't koi, but i was reading once about how this woman fed her koi marshmallow cream and they were all dead the next day...reeses aren't really that close to marhmallow cream but its really sugary and stuff..
not saying they're gonna die because i have no clue, but i would brace myself for tomorrow morning...

I am glad you guys are amused by my dilemma lol.... but seriously im a bit concerned!

I suppose time will tell, unfortunately you had to be the guinea pig:(

ah.... well that is a bit concerning. thanks for the input

sorry, i didn't mean to make fun of your delema, the story about the koi was real
that really sucks though. i honestly don't know, but i wouldn't expect them to be robust and healthy by tomorrow
EDIT: oops, im too slow

Sugar clouds up the water. Snails like their food a bit sugary but no more than that but this concerns fish and I have only tried snail jello and hotdogs to my fish aside from the usual fish menu. What are the ingredients of that? I've had the jar before but no longer have it. Tell your nephew to refrain from doing it again.

Edit: My snail jello consists of baby food, honey, gelatin, etc.
