Qs-tip #5 Plants on a stick

Here is a more mature crypt on a stick.

The stick may need replacing in a few months

The nice side is indeed quite nice! They seem to be growing in kind of bonsai like when deprived of the substrate. The raft they're creating is really interesting.

So they don't need to have the roots go down into the substrate. I'm a total noob when it comes to plants.

Some plants don't. The java ferns and the crypts I have don't need substrate but the crypts will grow much smaller than if they were planted in substrate.
