mafia 63- Who is Who

Mad, I think you have a point in voting out those who don't really help the town, but like others have said, it's still 50/50. We could do this for several nightfalls until scum start to reveal themselves. I will be relying on you all with more experience as I'm not sure who to consider helpful or not (have some ideas but there are also players I do not know).

But until then, the oddest thing so far to me is this:

well if we are lynching people then

I VOTE TO LYNCH MAD

Thats what u get for thinking so hard lol.

My vote will probably change lol

Hmmm i retract my vote from mad

u no what I vote to lynch Riboship just in case i cant show by tomorrow.

The new person is acting oddly...

Agree with jpap that the new guy is acting oddly. It could be just being a noob, it could be he's not sure how to act because he's scum.

I've been trying to decide whether I like your plan or not, Mad. In the end, I don't see any great benefit by doing this. We're still randomly killing off people (because they're lurkers)... so it's the same thing as randomly killing off people for any other (random) reason. The intention behind this is good but it's not going to give us anything better to go on for Day 2. Then if we do this again on Day 2, we're still no better off on Day 3. Basically, it doesn't matter whether we take your approach or not. It's just another bunch of random votes whatever way everyone decides to place them.

That's fine that you're not for the plan. Unfortunately, though, whatever happens on D1, there won't be much in terms of voting record to go from....even most of the scum know nothing at this point.

I can understand why Rich doesn't like the idea... just his opposition doesn't mean he's mafia. Rich is something of a lurker himself. He doesn't normally post much and he doesn't do a lot of digging or make many inquiries even when he's innocent. So Rich would oppose the idea out of self-preservation, if nothing else. I can see the position he's in, given Mad's suggestion, and I don't feel there's reason to lynch Rich for just wanting to stay in the game (whichever side he's on).

I don't have an issue with rich being against the plan....I asked what everyone thought. But instead of giving reasons for being against it, he just dismissed it as 'awfully evil'. Didn't give any reasons until pressed...and in none of his reasons did he address any scum-driven logic.

So Mad, who are your top (or I guess bottom) historically generally unhelpful players?

Since they'll probably never see this, I'd say Ice, Ogre and Z ;). Actually, though, I'm not going to name names, as there's no real unanimous decision to move forward with the plan. No sense bruising egos for no reason.

There is a term I was taught years ago, to each their reach. Also, most sucessfull things in life need team work. A football team can't have 11 quaterbacks.

Thanks, Marv. You can't have 11 quarterbacks, but to work as a team, you need everyone giving 110%...firing on all cylinders...leaving it all out on the field. Now back to you in the booth. ;)

Actually, I'm not talking about ability, I'm talking about effort, and the generally non-contributing lurker who can kill you in an end-game situation. Someone, whose play through Day 4 gives you no clue as to their alignment. Scum pushes them as lynch candidates late in the game, and the player has no defense...they've really done nothing pro-town.

I'd really like to know as well. I see where he's coming from, but I don't think it's an effective strategy for this game. No more effective than regular day 1 crazyness at least. imo, This game is about finding associations between players. Those low contributors will align themselves as the game goes on.

I'll give him credit at least that it's a method to place a vote on day 1 at least. It's trying, which is better than enumerating the letters in someones name and calling them scum because it adds up to a prime number.
Based on the setup, my plan is no more effective than any other for hitting scum on D1, it just helps minimize the risk to the town if an innocent gets lynched.

very interesting, sorry havent been on. got to catch up

If you haven't been on, and need to catch up, why would you say 'very interesting'? How would you know if anything interesting has been said?

The new person is acting oddly...

When don't they? It seems odd to me, Jpap; that you would vote a newb for acting like a newb... especially after you said you didn't want to "bite ankles" so soon. You didn't bite any ankles, just jumped right for the crotch.

Mad, I think you have a point in voting out those who don't really help the town, but like others have said, it's still 50/50. Again looking at the newb for no real reason... seems odd to me...

I'm still not sure how I feel about Mad's plan. I agree that there is some merit to it, but it doesn't really help us learn anything new. I don't think there's enough evidence yet to call anyone scummy because of that conversation. I'm not going to be able to be on much tonight or tomorrow, so just in case... I vote to lynch Jpappy. We're supposed to be kicking bushes, not newbs Pap.

yay someone is on my side lol.

yay someone is on my side lol.

Again, this is odd. No one should really be on anyone's "side" at this point in the game. Are you and JB communicating?

I could totally go for the OMGUS vote for Rbishop...worked for me last game when my OMGUS helped me pick out 2/3 mafia (sorry Dawg, you don't get my fish cuz I won the bet :raspberry: ).

JB, I understand that the person is probably confused on some level...but this just looks too weird to me...

well if we are lynching people then

I VOTE TO LYNCH MAD

Thats what u get for thinking so hard lol.

My vote will probably change lol

This I would let pass, just seems eager to be in the game.

I agree, Pappy. Don't think there's anything sinister behind Mad's motives... don't think he's scummy at all for suggesting it.

Here Kash says Mad doesn't look scummy.

Hmmm i retract my vote from mad

Right after that FF retracts.

Okay, here's a shot in the dark.

I vote to lynch Rbishop.

First.. it's consistent with Mad's plan (for what that's worth) because Rb isn't all that helpful most of the time. So he's a lurker, normally. Also, while I don't think Mad's approach gets us very far, there's no harm cooperating with it either. Jpappy brought up a good point that it's the lurkers we have the most trouble pinning down later in these games.... so I don't mind losing a few random lurkers here and there while we're biding our time.

Second.. Rb wants to killl everyone else but himself -- all at the same time. Wow, Bob... that's one way to speed things up! Not necessarily a scum move, but it's good enough to draw a random vote from me.

Subject to change...

Kash votes Rb.

u no what I vote to lynch Riboship just in case i cant show by tomorrow.

So does FF.

I know there is no set team yet but FF is definitely cuddling up to Kash and that makes me worried. I see it as a plausible D1 vote, but I do understand any hesitation in voting a new player. Given the number of mafia I'm not going to think about that...

What I mean about the ankle biting is I'm not looking to be as narrow minded as I was last game. I do pick at things but I think I went a little overboard and put my blinders on. That does not mean I'm going to stop being aggressive, JB.

OMG u make me sound like the bad guy. My vote has a 95% chance of changing as time goes on sheesh, she seemed to make a good point. AND she appears to know what she is doing.

You better get used to it...thats the whole point of the game.

This is why I don't like your plan, those players on day 4 are actually still valuable. Not for their contribution, but for their situation. We know the scum target them, and that is valuable information.

your very talkative i may just vote for u.
