OK If the myans knew when teh end of the world was going to come, did they also know when the end of their own civilization was going to be?

Did they do anything about it?

Who knows.

If something is constantly expanding, thus has no limit, it can easily be interpreted as infinite ;)

it is not "constantly" expanding, its exponentially expanding and will pop like a ballon if it keeps that up. Everything will "pop". Therefore it has a limit, it passes that it pops and everything inside dies by atomic shredding.

Exactly my point. What makes anyone so certain that "our time has come" when we're just a mere blip on the evolutionary timeline.
You have a strange way of making your point.
The fact that life on this planet consists of mere blips, makes me wonder how much time humans have left.I actually don't really think it will be in 2012,but I bet the end is a lot closer than most people think. And it will probably be because of a virus.

This load of horse hockey is derived from combining the end date of the Mayan calender that lasts a bit over 5000 years with the Sumerian writings that say that a world wide cataclysmic event happens every 5000 years or so and that the sun will rise in alignment with the center of our galaxy on that date.

Don't bet on it.

This was a religiously based prediction. Nevertheless, I believe that Jesus will return when he does, and I plan to "expect him every hour". (Sorry if I hurt anybody's feelings :nilly:)
Not a religious based prediction. This was a scientific based prediction concerning the alignment of the earth, moon, and various other planets.
Astrology may have been part of the ancients religion but this was purely proven by science.

The universe IS constantly expanding. It will continue to until hit a point where it will eventually start to contract back in it's self. Many theoretical physicists believe this has happen over and over numerous times. Each time creating a "new" universe from a big bang created by that matter finally reaching is maximum point of being compressed and producing a "big bang"

Are you really sure about that?

YOU EXPECT A PREDICTION THAT CAME FROM THE MAYAN RELIGION
to be discussed without people bringing their own religious views into the conversation AHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHHA!!

Forgive me for finding this humourous to the extreme, respectfully I will not answer in this thread.

Forgiven ;), i didn't quite mean stating personal religious beliefs, but more like open insults or rejections of the beliefs of others.
