Mafia #70: The Time Vortex

Yeah, JB. I had that gun for a turn too and I decided to shoot Dawg with it... which was a huge mistake. I decided then to go with my own hair-brained theory at the time. The other gunslingers who followed me DID choose targets based on the town's consensus and they were wrong too. It doesn't matter what the town consensus will be. Anyone could be pulling that trigger who isn't good at reading between the lines like Ice was.

So, do you want a bad Physicist to have the gun?

JB, you haven't found Kash's play to be pro-town? I haven't seen anything scummy from her that I remember. I'm kinda thinking you're the one who needs more looking into. Your play this game hasn't stood out to me, which now is standing out a lot to me. Have you been sliding by? Why did you hit FF?
TBH Labby, I did find Kash to be pro-town, but I haven't really looked into her beyond gut reaction. I'm going to go back and do that now. If you really feel you haven't qustioned me enough, and I've slid by then question me now. I'll be happy to answer anything you want me to.

I think I'm right about this. I had an immediate reaction to Kash's posts twice. I don't think I'm wrong about this.

If they're not on the trail, they make a bad shot and we're down a physicist, how does that sound?

No Zaffy. The gunslinger doesn't shoot themself with the silly thing. That person isn't at risk at all. They target whoever they think is scummy. And if a regular townie was given the gun AND the mafia team got to pick their choice now... you think they're going to hand that to someone likely to aim correctly?

We'll be lucky if the slinger doesn't take out a physicist by mistake.

Yeah, but then the physicist will have the gun. We'd be down a townie, but then the person with more info to make a more educated shot has the gun. The shot person doesn't die if innocent, the shooter does. Kash, I thought you would have remembered that...

Jeez, Zaffy. The point I just made is the scum team got to pick ANY townie. Not any townie PR. And they've had an opportunity to investigate townies at some point in the preceeding days which allowed them to eliminate someone communicating. So they're more prone to hand that gun over to someone they already know isn't communicating on our side.

Go back and read what Dawg posted.

Correction: The gunslinger dies if they target a townie. They are very much at risk. I think that's important for people who weren't in the game to know. So if a physicist shoots a townie, the physicist will die. I don't see any other way to interpret these rules.

There is no AND situation here, the mafia was able to choose who got the gun. I think that's also pretty clear from Pappys posts.

In the gunslinger game I was scum, we chose Ice because we felt that getting a good player like him out early was the best course of action. That backfired.

Zs is dead, so his townie PR esp is luckily out of play.

Okay, I see what you've been saying now. I was just thinking who various people were likely to target as opposed to who's pulling the trigger. You guys are right.

That makes this even worse, though. We stand a chance of losing both a townie AND and PR at the same time if they don't pick the right person.

SORRY FOR THE ud TONIGHT GUYS... i TRUELY COULD NOT BE HERE AND THOUGHT i HAD VOTED ALREADY... WORK HAS BEEN A FAR MORE LARGER TASK THAN i THOUGHT AND IT HAS CONSUMED A LARGE PART OF MY WAKING HOURS.... i PROBABLY SHOULD NOT HAVE JOINED AND FOR THAT, i DO APOLOGIZE... Yes... I see what you mean now, Zaffy. It's just frustrating switching the rules around every day like this.

When I had the gun, I was just a townie before and there weren't any PRs I could have shot by mistake. And when I'm playing, I really don't care if I get killed. You learn that early in these games because you still win if your team does. So no, I wasn't thinking about that during the Gunslinger games.

Game... singlular.
