15 gallon - Southeast Asian Biotope

Oh :D

Well anyway, I ditched the layout I sketched, and completely rescaped the tank, nothing new in there though, only a piece of driftwood from my 120. IMO it looks a lot better than it did before, plus I think it looks more natural.

Hehe just finished watching Troy...

Anyway, it's like my loaches are high or something they swim all over the tank for like 2 hours nonstop (I'm serious), have a 1 hour break, and then they're at it again. One got stuck between the filter and the glass, had to pry him out.

So, pics :DD

The kuhli stuck between the filter & wall:

The white/yellow squigly lines on the tank pics are hyperactive kuhlis. I'm planning to get some nice big crypt to replace the crypt I have now on the right side of the tank, for the focal point. I'll put the small one... I don't know yet. Make it up as we go.

very nice! I would add a crypt of a small java fern in the front corner, as the front looks quite barren IMO.

I wouldn't add any more plants. Once the crypts really get going, that negative space in the front is gonna be a welcome feature. Great job on the rescape! The tank looked nice before, but it's much more balanced now imo.

Thanks everyone!

I agree with user_name. But it still looks great!:thm:

Thanks, and what front corner are we talking about? I can use the small crypt that's on the right side, cause I was gonna replace that anyway.

I like it! Maybe some floating Indian fern or some larger crypts. Or patience, & yours will spread

Yeah I was gonna get a bigger crypt for the focal point (instead of the smaller crypt on the right side). I was looking for a floating plant too, Indian fern fits perfectly :D

Yeah I'm happier with the tank now, I think it also looks a bit 'wilder' :D

GRRR!

I woke up this morning to find that the tank has a small leak :irked: It's not a lot, but the water level dropped about an inch since yesterday, plus theres a puddle on the stand. I think there's a crack on the bottom, must've dropped a rock or something. Haven't checked it out yet, I have to get some aquarium silicone first. I think you have to give silicone 24 hours to dry and for the fumes to go away so I'll put the fish, plants, filter, and heater into a 10 gallon plastic tub that I use for water changes. The plants must be pissed at me lol constant uprooting.

Bummer! I hope it's not cracked, silicone won't help. If it's a seam leak, scrape off ALL the old & reseal. I let dry at least 48 hours. It may be easier to just buy another tank, small tanks aren't too expensive.
