Ummm... try reading that again, Pappy. I didn't say I would shoot you if Ice were out of the picture... I said that I would have chosen you before I skimmed today's posts. Two different things there entirely IMO. Actually, I stated pretty clearly that based on said skimming I was leaning you innocent.

That being said, I'm starting to get that anxious feeling in my gut about you. Now that I've had a better read, I'm missing the "in your face" Pappy that I'vel come to expect... at least when you're innocent. You seem pretty passive so far.

Maybe you can answer my question as to WHY you suspect the people you do instead of asking others for their opinions. If people have something to say, they'll say it...

I was going to post this last night, but wanted to see if Js changed their style today. Once I saw them asking for people's thoughts again I figured I should post it...

I know that it is too early to be this easy, but I would like to know what the town thinks of the above responses and departure.

I think we should focus on making a list of a few people who we think could be mafia and then go from there.

Anyone else think rich might be mafia? I just think there is something about the way he is posting but I just can't put my finger on it. But I could be completely wrong.

To the first part: uh yeah, that is how the game is played. We make lists and vote although in this game ultimately one person decides who goes. (remember this as well).

To the second part: now Rich is scummy...but maybe not...

From 6 posts you already have a scum vibe from Rich?

Like I said I could be completely wrong about rich. This is also my first game so everything I say is only based on what I have learned from reading the previous mafia game thread and the few hours I have been playing so far today.

I find it odd that someone who has read the game and should know that 12/15 of those playing participated in that game somehow would suggest earlier that we create suspect lists. Sort of suggesting the obvious...no?

OK, I have been going back and forth from the begining of the game to the last post.

Not all players have posted yet which makes my job tougher. Next question for the town is,

My only thoughts on those posts are they are very far apart in terms of time and they did not contribute much in terms of finding the mafia.

Basically rehashing what wiz said only making it sounds more scummy.

That is exactly what I came up with as well. But I am not quite sure what it means.

He could have something to hide and not want to help the town or maybe he wants to help the town but simply does not have anything to contribute.

This is a response to what JB said regarding Dag. More agreement and just stating the obvious "he might but he might not" schpeal like with Rich.

Any more ideas anyone?

Now wants ideas from other people. Maybe come up with your own?

I dunno...I am not good at distinguishing between overzealous newbs and scummy newbs but this has a different vibe to it...its not so much self destructive (as we are used to) as it is trying to help but sounding fake...Js has pretty much been a follower at this point and it seems like he just wants other people to throw out ideas so he can latch on and agree with them.

FF has been posting oddly. Almost as if he keeps slipping up but then tries to cover it up by saying he was just being FF.

Ice has been seeming overly helpful but as Kash pointed out, some of his theories/ideas (specifically about what would happen if a noob became gunslinger) seem to stand out as odd.

LG was only a random guess because I needed a third person to add to my list.

This bugs me.

Its one thing to have a gut feel but another to put an entirely RANDOM person on your list. Why do you need to have three people?

Like I said, some of the stuff Jspigs has posted has been bothering me, so I went back to look a little closer.

I'm not comfortable with "floating" the idea of Rich being mafia so soon, especially with the qualification at the end. Seems like trying to bait others to jump on it.

Keep this post in mind...

The list thing was believable the first time he brought it up. It's too early for it to be helpful IMO, but now with JS bringing it up again, it seems to me like he's more trying to take the temperature of the town than "give us something useful".

Here's where the post above becomes important... JS, what's the difference between FF "slipping up" and covering it up by saying "I"m FF" and saying "I could be wrong, I"m a newb?" Pot, meet kettle.

This is the second time you've posted this same thing... do you have anything more to add?

In summary, JS seems to be playing a pretty sophisticated game for a newb without any coaching. I'm not buying it... Jspigs just hit number one on my list with a bullet... so to speak. :laugh:

When I suggested rich I was really just trying to throw an idea out there to get the game moving and try to help the town. I realize now that I was probably wrong when I suspected him

I had actually forgotten I had already suggested making a list so I thought I was posting a new idea.

The difference is FF was saying things that I thought could be indicative of whether or not he was a mafia or not and then when he was questioned about it he would say that he was just being FF. I however was saying ideas as to who I thought might be mafia and when people questioned me about it I realized I could be wrong so I said just that. The newb part of it was because I wanted to explain that I am new to this game and I don't have much experience. I realize now that the newb part was probably unnecessary.

I posted that a second time simply to keep the thread moving.

I assure you I have not been coached. I am not part of the mafia so I can't have been coached by them. Any coaching would have had to happen in the game thread for all to see.

Now I see what you mean. I was concerned about a lack of posting early on. When that picked up today, it made me relax a little about you. Now that I understand the misunderstanding, I'm a little less anxious.
