As for my picks, I'm going to let things soak in for a bit and wait for the invest results. This has shed a bit of light on JB for me and made me rethink about Rich. I'm not thinking of clearing Rich or anything but I want to re-read what Kash decided to say about him.

At this point if I'm wondering if Kash's long winded "case" on Rich really was a last ditch attempt to distance cause she knew she was going down or if she was trying to draw the shot to him or just bring down an innocent either way.

Thoughts?

I still don't like how Rich suddenly decided that Ice and I were scummates over nothing but a bunch of OMGUS from the looks of it...

I still want answers from those I addressed in #745 as well.

I have been wondering the same thing since yesterday. It really seemed like every person had Kashta on their list of scum so she had to know that there was a highly likely chance she was going to get shot, Chill had pretty much even said from the moment he picked up the gun that Kashta was most likely going to be his first shot. So the question becomes was Kashta going for the win since the UDs or was she setting up her team for the win? I have a strong suspicion that she was setting up her team for the win instead of doing a last ditch effort to pull out a W today.

Since I announced when an investigation was granted I guess I need to announce when none has been granted. The coin landed on tails, therefore no investigation was granted.

Chill watches the town clock, there is a slight click before the bell chimes, he reaches for his gun at the click, clearing leather as the clock chimes the hour, his hesitation slows his hand but a decision has to be made ....

"Kashta, you are scum and it is your day to die!" Chill proclaims. The two face off in the center of ACville. As the bell tower chimes, both Chill and Kash draw their revolvers and fire. In this town, Nobody's faster on the draw. Kash's shot goes wide, but Chill's aim is true...











The bullet strikes Kash, mafia goon, in the chest, severing her aorta. She quickly exsanguinates in the middle of the town square.




Chill remains gunslinger. Next shot must be taken by 5:30 pm EST on Thursday 9/2.

Good Aim Chill! The town is saved from the brink of death!

Now, i still think that Rich and JS are possible evils. Tay and LG may be evil, but i don't think so so much. Maybe one of them, but i think it was just a little to much to be distancing. Who attacked Kashta second? That one may have been jumping on to give the illusion of innocence. Im pretty sure it was tay, but ima go back and check...

My other suspects are: #2 Taysius. And #3 something of a toss up between Dag, FF, and Jspigs.

I'd bet one of dag ff or JS is evil just in case Chill didn't shoot her.

For Ice any reason you would leave Dag off?

At the time I just didn't have any feeling about him. Jpap asked him a good question in post 745 and though he hasn't answered it was a really good point.

Okay well I think lots of people over reacted to kash's little mistake but I'm not sure either way. I've told you my main suspects; JS and rich. The reasons for these I stated before but I'll say again for you before sleep. Js seems nervous and not in control, as far as jumping to conclusions then back pedaling. As for rich, the thing I see most scummy is him being so worried and defensive everytime he gets mentioned in a list. A townie wouldn't do this, mafia would.

Then came the consider/hesitate debate which you said nearly the same thing that I did so I know we were on the same line of thought there. Did you really need to be refreshed about that when we were thinking the same things? So if I saw the same things you did and you agreed with me on them about Rich, how does his guilt if shot and killed link me to him as a team mate?

About my posts being overlooked, it just seems that way during every game I've played. I will say the same thing as a vet, sometimes even before a vet and the vet is the one to get recognized for it. It seems like people don't notice that I am there trying to help the town as well. I'm still getting brushed off as a "just a newbie" by some people and I try not to be offended by it but it feels a little degrading at times.

Not sure how JB could forget the mind meld he had with Tay.

I'm still on the fence. I agree that it's not like her to make such a mistake. But I also see her point that if it was an honest mistake, it would be an easy thing to use to condemn her.

That being said, if we're going to start shooting people for making mistakes I'm screwed. LOL. I'd like to see/hear more before making a concrete decision. Especially since our backs are up against the wall at this point.

I haven't had a chance to get to Rich yet this game. I do suspect Rich but hadn't been able to pull all his posts yet. You people have wasted a lot of my time discussing the stupid mistake I made instead.

Now that I've done that, yes I strongly suspect Rich. And I think his theory about Pappy and Ice is crap. I've just been focused more recently on the way Lady G and Taysius have been posting so they caught my attention and have used up most of the time I have for this game.

That said, here's what I think of Rich and his posts.

Chill, I started suspecting Rich from the time he said this... (in red).





Rich is one of few players who could openly admit being scum like that and still get away with it because we'd likely attribute the remark to his snide sense of humor.





Rich is right about this. Ice has later remarked about that game that he got lucky... getting 3 accurate shots in a row surprised even him.



Facetious comment or blatant opinion. Either way, it dissuades us from shooting FF. When Rich posted this, I was more suspicious of those who were poking at FF early in the game. But the more FF has "contributed" since, I have him among my suspects. If FF turns out to be scum, which is likely, here is a nice subtle way Rich was discouraging us from shooting him.



Agreed with Rich at the time and still do. IMO Ice wanted that gun so bad he didn't care Wizard had to die just so he could get it.

Normally, Rich as mafia would suggest Jspigs is innocent or they're distancing. In this game, however, it's real easy for scummates to play both sides against the middle and build strong cases against members of their own team. Statements in posts and suspect lists can be explained away later and we get no patterns from vote analysis or nightfall events to base comparison. We get very a few misses (not to mention UDs) and the mafia win is virtually guaranteed. Most of their team is, therefore, expendable.

No matter who's on which side, how well the town does, or how the mod tries to tweak the rules a little to make this game better balanced, I doubt we'll ever see the town win playing this format.

Example in point of what I just said above. Thanks to the loss of Wizard, the UDs, and Ice throwing us off by acting scummy early on so he could get the gun.... Rich and Lady G both get shot and flip scum... and the town still lose this game. The numbers favor the mafia too much.



Rich wanted us not to shoot Jspigs. I think the mafia liked the idea of maybe the town battling it out between Rich and Lady G instead as both they are both hard to pin down just in the thread without actual lynch votes or invest results. That's all it would take.... once the dust cleared, Jspigs would turn out to be their ace in the hole for the win. This being Jspig's very first game, we'd naturally avoid giving him the gun.



Rich has wanted us to shoot Lady G and has said so many times. This serves them 2 purposes... this tends to clear Lady G a bit more in the minds of those who think Rich is scum and it makes Lady G seem more scummy to those who view Rich as possibly innocent.



Another post from Rich I glossed over when it was made. Now, it's hard to tell if FF or Jspigs is their teammate. Rich seems to have been protecting both of them all along.



Posts like that just make my head hurt.





When all else fails... just openly admit you're mafia and no one will take that seriously.... at least, not from Rich.





Now Rich does a flip-flop.

And now we get to Rich's spin on Pappy's invest result clearing Ice as an innocent....

Again, Rich isn't interested in really helping the town.



Noncommittal so it's a safe post to make. The important thing is he raises doubt about Pappy and Ice.



Rich settles on his teammate and someone else (me) who's suddenly drawn the town's attention.



I honestly think Rich really doesn't care who we shoot. At this point now, the mafia already knows they're going to win no matter which way the shots play out.



Rich opts for consistency regarding Lady G and calls my game sloppy. Nice touch there, Rich.





Rich gets cranky.





Rich urged us to shoot Lady G but lowers that to put me first on his list. Still sticks with his previous case against Lady G.... but it's still better to shoot me first so that delays us shooting Lady G.















Rich has caused all the "damage" he feels is necessary and simply leaves it at that.

Is it to big a case against Rich? I thought so at 1st read but she tries to link him to FF JS LG as possible teamates.

Dag, I still don't understand why you are so hung up on the Ice vs. LG thing...I mentioned it as possible distancing and immediately you put them on opposite sides. Why one extreme but not the other? What about that argument screamed that LG and Ice were not just two innocents going at it?

I considered it to have the possibility to be distancing of course. I just feel that it was too overboard to simply be a plan to make a gap between them. If we take your word that Ice is in fact innocent, it makes me believe then that LG has a higher chance of being scum. I am not totally convinced that LG is scum, I think there is an even higher chance of Rich being scum then LG.
