Strong evidence suggests that Vikings visited as far south as the Yucatan Peninsula, and West to the Mississippi river. Prior to that Persians may have traveled into the Caribbean. And even before that, there's clear evidence that early people traveled across an Atlantic ice sheet around the same time as people from Asia came over the Bering land bridge. Of course, expeditions from Asia are a whole other story.
