SUNSUN HW-302 Outside Filter setup & test

Thanks for the link Gunner. Nice review. I've never used a bottom feed canister like that before. I really like the basket design of my 302. I think I'd like to continue using something similar. The reason I am wondering if the 302 will be sufficient for a 75g is not necessarily for the filtration, but also for the turnover. The 75g will be heavily planted and will include pressurized CO2 injected into the return line of my canister. I want to make sure I will have ample flow to disperse the CO2 in the tank. Is really like to keep as much equipment out of the tank as possible otherwise I would purchase a second 302. So as it stands right now, I'd like to continue using a single stacked canister for the 75g. I'll probably try the 302 out for the 75g and if it doesn't seem sufficient enough I'll look for a larger alternative.

I also have been using a 302 on a 29g and added a 75g to my collection of tanks. One 302 alone will not be enough flow for your 75g. I'm currently using a 302 and a Fluval 304 on my 75g. For filtration it might work for a very very lightly stocked tank but I would highly recommend adding an additional 302. Yes, it will be more equipment in your tank, but having 2 filters on a large tank adds additional security. You can clean one at a time, reducing the risk of a mini cycle. You're also not completely screwed if disaster strikes and a filter dies on you.

Get the tidycat litter box fellas, its a perfect deep fit and the handle works great to carry your canister to and from cleaning areas.

Thanks for the link, i am looking for a canister for a 90 gallon freshwater lightly( maybe more heavily) planted tropical ( that's the plan at least). I had been considering an eheim 2075 canisters, but obviously cost is an issue. i see a 4 stage:

how would that be for the set-up i want?

I know it's been 8+ months since this topic was touched....

I just bought one & was hoping that it is good.

I purchase a 304 model. Its been up and running for a few months. The directions for the unit are not that helpful but its pretty easy to set up. My only question is on the arrangements of the baskets. Should my filter floss media be in the highest basket or the one closest to the bottom of the canister.
