I think he is trying here. I commend you for making this thread. I would highly recommend you do something about the discus - those stunted fish are really only suitable for giveaway, and good luck finding a taker that isn't completely clueless as to their care. So in the long run, euthanasia via clove oil is probably the most sensible thing to do. BTW, if you don't have clove oil, IMO it is a must to keep with your fishkeeping supplies. There is nothing more humane for euthanazing fish, and you do not need much if you use it properly.

Good luck to you. I am glad you are starting to see the error in your ways....although, I think you are assuming that because you live in an urban area that getting rid of those angelfish fry will be no problem. You have to have a plan for all those fry!! If you have a good rapport with an LFS, they may take some but likely not all. The market is saturated with garden variety angelfish. Your best bet would be to ship them locally and to learn how to ship properly, if you don't already know (although you said you sold $200 worth of fish, so you may well know).

And yes, I agree - spending $60 for a dime sized discus was completely crazy. I would get rid of all but this one and grow it out to a sellable size! Maybe get your money back?

For me, first priority would be finding new homes for the discus and the fry and then focus on the stocking issues. That will give you time to really think about which fish you want to keep and which fish are more expendable, for lack of a better term.

For me....keep the 72 gal.....put all other tanks and equipment into storage.

Give away all fish or euthanize as necessary except the following for the 72...

1 pair ABNs
4 albino long fin corydoras
1 emerald corydora
3 green emerald corys
4 julii corys
14 harlequin rasboras
A SINGLE ANGEL the largest that you like the coloring of

Maintain that tank for a year...nothing new except maybe re-arranging and changing out plants. Concentrate on your schooling and numerous other activities.

Learn THAT tank and it's stock...observe....

this sounds pretty bad. never buy a fish before having somewhere for it to go!! and if rams are anything like cockatoo apistos your corys wont make it. mine relentlesly ran my corys around the tank until i couldnt look at it anymore and had to move them. i think you should start searching for pleny of 20 gallon longs and 55 gallons. id make the 55's for angels, the 72 for discus (if you dont give them away), and 20 gallons for everybody else.saying that you can run out and buy a 20 gallon is not enough. sorry to say it but youve got a HUGE problem on your hands.

Didnt you do this with your killies?!

And Fishboss, i think a lot of us saw this coming. But if you listen to the good advice being given here you will be alright!

"i got my killifish today
ok so i got my gardneri biassa today. i dont have the tank setup bc the crabs are still in their tank. i can hopefully transfer them to it today but if i cant will the be ok in a 3 gallon bucket with a bubbler? ill post pics when theyre in the tank! "

but this thread is for FishBoss.....

i bought a tank for them today and if you must talk about it go to my thread and say something. commetning on this thread about it is going to lead to off topic conversations so if we can all go back to the OP'S situation that'd be great :) so fishboss what are your plans?

Thats why I posted your comment...stay on topic here..thanks.
