thx nerdyrcdiver. I actually take alot of joy from caring for her. i check on her when i get back from class, feed her, and been doing water changes at night. Being a Chem major doesn't exactly make my life stress free. But have her around has done wonders for my anxiety. i grew up having a large saltwater tank in our home, and Ive had bettas before, they lasted 3-4 years in their small bowls. But being a kid i didn't know any better. I'm hoping to one day have a whole room in my house devoted to fish and tanks. But for now being a college student comes first and it seem taking care of her will be easy once the tank is cycled. Im looking to get a 10 gallon tank when they go on sale. the girl at petsmart told me it would be soon and they will get a lot of stock in. maybe start up a second tank at that point and cycle it right. Get a few tropical fish and put it in the living room. my roommate said he would be down to split costs so this could work nicely. either way im still focused on taking care of Elsie and i will definitely be sticking around.
