So ammonia is down to 0 but nitrites are staying high this week during in fish cycle. Prime everyday to keep fish safe. Would a water change help? API test reading between .50 and 1 ppm of nitrites. Tank was setup 12/27 and fish added 1/2.

If your ammonia is gone and your nitrites are high then your cycle is on the right track, they will soon go away and give way to nitrates, when that happens you can do a water change, but for now I wouldn't.
