What are some hardy breeds of tetras??

Gymnocorymbus ternetzi are about as hardy as they come.

What is the common name?

I believe they are Skirt Tetra's - white or black

Black tetra, black widow tetra, black skirt tetra.....and the list goes on and on and on.

So no neons then? I wish I could figure out what breed the red ones are. They were only a 1.00 a piece.

They are a pinkish red color with some black on them they are about .75 inches. They are a wider fish than say a neon. They have red and black on them. They school. I know they are some type of tetra. They were cheap ( 1.00) on sale. They favor serpaes but I do not believe they are.

Try Hyphessobrycon sweglesi (red phantom tetra).

They favor the serpaes and the red phantom tetras. Maybe they were labeled wrong at Petsmart. I think the label said red-nose tetras.
