I already do! They each have their own unique personality. It's so fun to watch them.Good luck with your goldies, Cowbell. You'll love keeping them because they have so much personality.
Yeah that's what I was taking offence to.I agree (somewhat) with Paul, but not in his blunt agressiveness...
They will prolly need a pond, but they'll be ok in a 55g for atleast a year, and that should be enough time to A) buy a bigger tank/pond or B) give them to someone with a large koi/goldfish pond.
Wow really, I didnt think it was that blunt. I'm sorry if my comments offended anyone!good sir Paul...
how about some constructive comments, eh?
She is going to put the goldies in a 55G tank once it is cycled in a week or two. For 4 1-2" goldies, this will be fine for a year or two til they outgrow it...plenty of time to find a pond or arrange for alternate living quarters.
I'm confident these fish will be treated better than 99.9% of anything Wallyworld sells.
Sir, if you had made a similar comment when I put 6 2" goldies in a 30G two years ago, it would have driven me off aquariacentral entirely.
(FYI, they get a 75G next week)

Cowbell I should read the entire post before I comment. I did not read that you were not a newbie and are going to put them in a 55g for a while...Sorry!My dear darling paul, even though a 2 gallon bowl is WAY WAY too small for four goldfish, maybe you should go look at the tanks in walmart. There are thirty+ goldfish in each ten gallon tank, they don't feed them enough so they are starving to death, they don't get enough airation so they gasp at the surface for air... and here I am, telling you that I'm going to change their water everyday, provide them with plenty of food, and soon I'm putting them into a 55 gallon... and all you have to say is something negative? Why bother at all? I'm sure your mother told you, "If you can't say anything nice, STFU!"
Seriously though, :silly:
I was not trying to be agressive, I just see so many wrong responses to goldfish care and started to read this thread and didn't finish it. I read some before this and it made me mad plus it was late last night, mabye I was grumpy!I agree (somewhat) with Paul, but not in his blunt agressiveness...

I know this is off the topic but,Thanks Malbri, Im not a mean person in fact im a big baby with feelings!I just want to say something on pauls behalf.
We all sometimes say things in a way that we did not mean them, im pretty sure he did not mean to say it in a mean way, and just wanted to help, so give him a brake.
Shubunkins are not koi - and they dont get 3+ feet - they are closer to commons in size; I would expect them to grow to 12-16" ... oh and the blanket statements that one particular "outlet" sucks are not fashionable. Sure some of those stores are bad, but others are great.Shubunkins = Koi, AKA 3+ feet, and common goldies get almost 2 feet.
