They have 10 gallon kits at Walmart for $25 ....why not spend the same money and get a 10g over the 1.5g ;)

I have heard mine make the same noise before...mine would do it while it was on...Havent heard it in awhile though. First time I heard it I thought I had a piece of something in the impellar of my filter until I put my ear closer and found out it was my heater making the noise.

Most people looking for used tanks only want the basics..tank,filter,heater,hood/lighting and stand. I know when I search around for tanks I dont have any interest in the deco in the tank and if there are fish in it already it will all depend on what they are compared to the price I am paying to...

If he is into music then maybe look into getting him an electric guitar .... You can buy the less expensive ones in kits (guitar,small amp,strap ect.) fairly cheap at retail stores or goto a music shop as they seem to have good deals on the kits aswell but may be a better quality guitar...

ouch...the gasket alone is $30 ...But I guess if it only needs replacing every few years the cost isnt too bad ...but still :(

Well I just emailed about it and asked why it at one time had urine in it and if they can send me a pic so I can see what shape it is in .... I will be sure to post back if they reply back to me on it

Well I guess it is your call...but you came here asking for advice and everyone has pretty much said what will happen if left for a month without feeding... So I guess it would have been better left unsaid than to post it up here for all to worry about your fish and you not take any advice...
