Its supposedly inert, and in the 4 tanks I have it in, I havent experienced any drops in pH.

No, a planted tank needs a little bit of current, otherwise plants would not get the nutrients and Co2 they require.

As I posted above, glass difusers do not work very well or at all with DIY CO2. Some work and some dont, but if you dont want to spend the money on a reactor or deal with plumbing one into an existing setup. Limewood or wooden airstone works very well btw. They are usually only a dollar or two...

Stratus, this might seem a bit off-topic, but do you have in place any Co2 system or fertilizer regime? Your money will be better spent on a Co2 system than lights, especially at the level you're trying to buy.
