    New Rams!

I'm just lax on water changes in that tank since it should be finished with it's mini-cycle in a day or two and all the fish that were in it are pretty hardy (serpea and cory cats). If I did a 10% change every day it would register 0ppm for ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite, but I havn't been home a...

    New Rams!

I just picked up a pair of blue rams today (and a nice sword)! And since I've been coveting and looking forward to them for almost two months I was doomed to make a mistake. The cup I was acclimating them in got dumped into a tank with 2ppm nitrites. :( Doing two 25% water changes, hopefully...

1/2 of the gill is missing and can see that it is red

Either.... but I don't think it'll help in the cae of your fish. Typically it's used to make swimming and bouyancy easier for fish that my otherwise have trouble, like say it was missing a nice piece out of it's back or side. This allows the fish to stay upright and mobile when it may not be...

    Any advice on homemade tanks?

If you're making a unique or specialy shaped tank then custom tanks rock. If you're just making a tank because you want to, you're going to pay a lot more than you should to just buy a tank.

    Suggest next fish

You could have two or three pairs of rams if you wanted with all that room. :) Just be wary the betta, he may attack them because of how showy they are.

    Serpae Tetra

I have 3 serpeas in a 20g with 4 cories and a gourami. All is well inside my tank. In fact the serpeas seem to get along with everyone pretty well. One of my cories is a little retarded or something, he was schooling with them last night. Just swam around with them while I fed and changed water...

    Salamander/Fish Tank Plans

So my last DIY project got me all ready to start another, and since I'm going to college I thought it'd be something I could take with me and fit into the dorm rooms. Now, I doubt I'll really be up for frequent water changes, ruling out taking a fully stocked tank, so I figure I'll just sort...

To Ram or not to Ram?

The fish you linked to is okay but looks like a goldfish too me. Anyway, I really want the german rams because of their color, a point on which I won't settle for less. I think bolivian rams may be better suited to my water conditions and tank since they are hardier and still very pretty...

    Help With Black Neon

She may just be fat. Don't feed them for a day and see how she looks then.

To Ram or not to Ram?

Okay, with my new 20gal just about to finish it's nitrite spike I'm thinking of / looking forward to getting a pair of rams.... however I'm not sure they're the best choice for my tank. The stocking for the tank will be: 4 Emerald Cory Cats, 3 Serpae Tetras, and 2 Gold Mystery Snails until I...

    Flower pots in tank

Yes, flower pots are fish safe. Silicon will be the best thing for adding bits to the outside of them.

2 male bettas in a 75 gallon tank.

You obviously don't know much about bettas if you think they don't swim much. I have three in a divided 10 gallon and they're very active, constantly begging for food, squeezing themselves around the plastic plants in the tank, and flaring at each other. You can keep several males in one tank...

    sound ok. any more?

Watch the danios, I had three of them kill a betta.

    Can you check my stocking

Rasboras will do better in such a small tank. The temperature flucuatiions may well kill the oto as they can be sensitive little things when you move them. Besides, pretty mid-dwelling schools will be much easier to see from across the room.

how much is too much $$$?

    I spent about $112 - $120 for DIY materials for my 10gal betta tank and my new 20g: - 3 Bettas ($3.50 each) - 20gal kit ($74.99) - Silicon ($4) - Report covers ($4) - Kool Aid ($.98) - Three emerald/bronze cory's ($9.36) - TopFin 10 (Free) - Sand ($2.50) I'd say you went over a...

    2 New Tanks (Pics)

Traded the shrimp back to the LFS and let them know what they have aren't bamboo shrimp... though I think they figured that out when we saw one attack and begin to eat a clown loach. Got 3 serpae and and a 1 1/2" ramshorn for an extra $.08

Turning live wood into drift wood?

I think it was a maple, that or a dogwood.\\ I'll just save up and buy some online or at the LFS if they ever get anything nice in.
