    Sick dormant goldfish?

I think the temp maybe dropped a bit too much for the pond. You can float something on the water surface to prevent freezing over again, that should be fine. Even though these fish are coldwater species, it's likely that it slowed their metabolism alot, putting them in state of dormancy...

thinking of gettin rid of 33" leopard shark read...

If worse comes to worse and you can't find a lfs that wants to take it, you could inquire to some local aquariums that have large saltwater displays. I don't know how much they would give you for it, if at all, but it's worth a shot for the animal's well being. It should be considered that by...

    Disappearing white clouds/ Danio parasite

Okay, I'll keep watchful eye on them. Is this normal for small fish to occasionally have small tumors? I've heard of it occurring in goldfish eventhough they were in healthy conditions, possibly due to something hereditary from breeding maybe. Everybody seems happy and are constantly chasing...

    Disappearing white clouds/ Danio parasite

No, I don't think it did bleed when I removed it. If it did, then it wasn't much I don't think. I don't see any rapid growth with it though, no real color change, though the dot-thing is a little darker than the rest of the fish.

    Color loss fancy goldfish?

I'm no expert in fish meds or anything, but maybe something in the meds you used had some kind of property that changed the color pigment. However, if you changed out everything in your tank after treatment, then it may be something in your water supply. You might want to call your local water...

But that wouldn't be too overstocked would it? No bleach solution for cleaning the spare tank?

    Disappearing white clouds/ Danio parasite

Well, the dot-thing appears to be growing right above the mouth of the danios. As for warm temps, I do live in FL, but my tank averages out at 72-74 degree F. That shouldn't be too warm, is it?

    plants and driftwood

There are some anubias plants that attch themselves to things. Anubias nana has a rhizome like a java fern and runs along the path of the object to which it's attached. Check out plantgeek.net, they have pretty good lists of plant types. You can even search by plant type; rosette, bulb, rhizome...

    Disappearing white clouds/ Danio parasite

Okay, I'll start with the white clouds since that is the most recent thing. My fourth whit cloud wasn't doing so well, being skinny, having not much appetite, although I had gotten him to eat some medicated food. It seemed to help a day or two, then one morning I wake up to find him resting on a...

    School Size Suggestions

My goal is to have two large, or at least decent sized schools of zebra danios and white clouds. What would be a good number for 2 large schools that could fit into a 55 gallon? How many other kuhlis could be added too? I also needed to ask about q-tank setup. I realized that I already...

    help in ID??

There's a good plant guide at plantgeek.net for non-aquatics sold deceptively as if they were, and a whole list of true aquatics common to the trade. I think the grassy plant you have could be mondo grass, a terrarium plant not suited to an aquarium environment. The one behind it does look...

    Foreground Plants?

You could try some of the smaller crypts. I'm actually looking into c. walkeri. I already have a medium sized version that's called c. wendittii.

Maybe some otos, white clouds, kuhli loaches, and similar sized fish. About exact stocking limits, I'm not completely fluent on that just yet, but I'm sure you'll get a response soon. Good luck~Angela

    Java Ferns

In the case that your ceramic decoration IS glazed to a smooth finish, then no. However, if there is no glaze present, then the surface should have enough of a porous texture to allow for attachment. Just gotta make sure that the surface texture isn't completely smooth. Good luck ~Angela

    Watersprite Unavailable At LFS's

I've called the 2 lfs's in my area, and they said they haven'tn ordered in a long while, or rarely carry watersprite. So I'm posting here to see if maybe anyone on the forum has some excess watersprite they could ship to me. I can do a trade involving hornwart, because I have a ton of it...

    Setting Up A Q-Tank

Thanx. I was mainly worried about humidity in the bathroom after shower use, it raises then falls back to a dry state within a short period. I was concerned it might change the water temp, or cause some damage to the equipment on the outside of the tank.

    Setting Up A Q-Tank

Maybe I should go with one of those 5 gallon starter kits, since I won't be dealing with anything other than kuhlis, white clouds, and like sized fish. The question is, what kind of filter would be best for that? Would it be wise to go with a kit since the equipment is included or should...
