Angel fish require soft acidic water so there not ideal in your tank and Clown loaches really do need an established tank (6months plus) as they are very senitive to even trace levels of Ammonia or NitrIte.. Plecos are also a huge bioload on a tank and again dont do best when in a cycling...

A scrubbing with something like washing up liqiud or bleech (if you wanna go OTT) is fine. Just make sure to wash all the cleaing solution off.

Wouldnt that compete with establishing bacteria for ammonia. Hence meaning the bacteria wont establish aswell if at all?

I have a similar LFS but luckily I have a few other local ones aswell so only have to go there in an emergency.
There fish are healthy enough, But like you its the "know it all" attitude that annoyes me about the place. Fishkeeping is a growing hobbie and new facts/info seems to come to life...

I have started raising my temp and adding salt. I have also been given by a friend an "interpret" whitespot treatment he bought but never used. It contains thats Formaldyde stuff so it sounds ok.
I was wondering would there be any harm in using this aswell as the heat/salt method ...

We use the stone mesaurment quite alot in the UK imperial system.
Also if your dealing with uk gallons then..... 1gallon = 4.4 litres
