Hi, Angel fish require soft acidic water so there not ideal in your tank and Clown loaches really do need an established tank (6months plus) as they are very senitive to even trace levels of Ammonia or NitrIte.. Plecos are also a huge bioload on a tank and again dont do best when in a cycling...

There fine. as long as there glazed (or you'll tint your water) :) A scrubbing with something like washing up liqiud or bleech (if you wanna go OTT) is fine. Just make sure to wash all the cleaing solution off. My parrot fish love there pot, they spend most of there time in it at the moment :)

Hows the tank doing? A water test now for ammonia, ntrite etc may be a good idea.

Ammonia block???? Wouldnt that compete with establishing bacteria for ammonia. Hence meaning the bacteria wont establish aswell if at all? Or am I being dense again :D

Yep they definalty should. Plecos are "poop machines" not sure about otos Any fish will pass waste etc therefore adding to a tanks bid-load. There was an interesting stickiy about the flaws in the inch per gallon rule (if thats what you where refering too?) basically fish are 3D so...

I have a similar LFS but luckily I have a few other local ones aswell so only have to go there in an emergency. There fish are healthy enough, But like you its the "know it all" attitude that annoyes me about the place. Fishkeeping is a growing hobbie and new facts/info seems to come to life...

Ok... I have started raising my temp and adding salt. I have also been given by a friend an "interpret" whitespot treatment he bought but never used. It contains thats Formaldyde stuff so it sounds ok. I was wondering would there be any harm in using this aswell as the heat/salt method ...
