    Red Valonia cure?

I'll try to get the ones up on the top of the structure and see how easily they come off. But honestly, as much work as it might involve, I'd rather do it once and do it well, as opposed to having to keep going in there to take stuff out.

    Red Valonia cure?

Thanks for the info! Wow! Is there no way to do in "in-tank"? The reason being if I do need to take the rock out of the tank, I'm pretty much going to have to tear down the entire rock structure, and re-aquascape once finished, since a lot of the bulbs are on my base rock. I'm sure this...

    Red Valonia cure?

Hey everyone, Looks like I have a pretty bad problem of Red Valonia in my tank! HERE is a picture of the problem. Its in different areas of my tank. I thought I might post this here to get advice on cures, what to do, what not to do etc etc. About the only think I know is not to pop them...

    ID needed

Ah! My worst fears have come true! Oh well, the cleanup process starts! Yeah I'll be sure not to pop them else I'll have them growing everywhere! Good to be back mate. I missed this place ... but work seems to have slowed down some so I should be able to be on here more often. Gimme a call...

    ID needed

That's the same site I read about Red Valonia which has led me to believe it was that. However, I just wanted it confirmed before I decide to treat it.

New pictures of my 36gal SW tank

Wow!! I didn't realize so many other people had left comments after I last check this post. Thank you everyone for your kind words!! I really appreciate it. I've had my starfish for a good 7 months now and its doing really good so far. I heard conflicting opinions about the tank size and...

    Scared clowns?

My clowns stayed in the farthest corner for a good week or two before exploring the rest of the tank. Even during feeding time, they would grab a mouthful from the opposite corner of the tank, and then dart back to their corner, finish it and do the same thing over again! Now, they're happily...

What the best way to feed my LPS corals?

Like Grins, I too feed my frogspawn and torch corals meaty foods like mysis, brine and cyclopeeze among other foods. I use a turkey baster as well, though have to keep my greedy clowns away from the corals during feeding time. I keep them busy with some food while I feed the corals. Also...

Ammonia is 0 but Nitrite is high

I agree with everyone above here ... patience is key in this hobby. Looks like you're on step two of the cycle (first being the ammo spike, followed by the Ite spike followed by a Ate spike). Keep testing and you should see the Ites drop in the next week or so, and then one big water change...

75G FOWLR Journal - Cycle is complete!

Wow! You really do have a very interesting plan with the macro and stuff ... I'm sure its going to end up looking really sweet once you're done. Yeah ... gotta hate diatoms ... thankfully I didn't have too bad of a time with them, except for on the glass. It will clear up soon though...
