I wouldn't get in the tank. I'd just get one of those Python 6 foot long gravel tubes.

Sometimes you just have to get in. But I am always aware of the health risks involved, but if your tank is healthy and well looked after then there is usually nothing to worry about.

Once a tank get to be a certain sizw, you NEED to at least get partially in to do maintenance.

I have a friend who has a custom built 400 gallon tank in his house. He gets in there to scrape the algae off rocks with goggles and snorkel tube. If you really want a big tank like that, there are just somethings you have to do.

Or just buy a house on a lake/ocean and put a glass wall below water level.

Lou-

You'd still have to get in the water to clean the outside of the glass. :) Even if you kept an algea magnet installed on it, once in a while you'd have to get in the water and change it.

I have the glass & the property with big plans for the future plus theres a hill with a spring im getting 50psi from so far & i'm only utilizing gravity from 1/2 the hill !FREE HYDRO! just subject to local biotope only(no tropicals)Most of us know little about our own biotopes

Here's a pic of a 800g tank that was being sold on ebay awhile ago. It measure's 103" x 46"x 39". I think it would very difficult getting inside this tank to clean it.

Here's another large tank. The amano tank. It would be hard to swim around in this tank with all the driftwood.-

I think this is Ashdavid's -1850g tank . Do you get in there to clean it?-

Change it? Are you suggesting a water change on the ocean? :)

I get in my tank if I had one that big.
