I'm aware, I didn't thinkt hat he was going to keep the vampire crabs with the skippers. Red claws MIGHT work....They're also brackish... I think the crabs are FW.
I was going to do red clawed and fiddler... Was going to do it along the lines of this set-up http://badmanstropicalfish.com/paludarium/paludarium3.htmlI'm aware, I didn't thinkt hat he was going to keep the vampire crabs with the skippers. Red claws MIGHT work....
Hey Chris, I was sort of juggling an idea around in my head that you may be interested in trying if you're going to retry the CPs.
What if you did the CP's sort of like in a riparium style container? I figure that would give you more livable room for the crabs and it would make sure something like this didn't happen since the soil would be further removed from the hard water. Also would be easier to remove the VFTs for their dormancy and get them closer to the light, which most of the time is a good thing.
The only issue would be making sure the pots you used could be drained and that there is still enough room for them to spread. I'm sure you could figure something out and since you're already working on a riparium project I though I would throw this out there.
Yeah I meant having the pots hang above where the soil is now so they are further away from the water. You could then leave the remaining soil for other plants and the crabs would get more room. If you decide to put them in pots I would make sure to find some small trays as well and sit them in some RO water. Easiest way to grow CPs in a terrarium.
pretty cool
this setup is pretty sweet. good job so far.
