thanks! this is definately going to work out better I think. these fish get along, no nipping yet.
one immediate difference I notice is with these fish (5 filamentosa barbs and 5 tinfoil barbs - had one of each die immediately after I got them home oddly enough - probably from rough net handling?) is that when you approach the tank, they all swim up begging for food.
with the old stock list, when you approached the tank, they freaked out and smashed into things..which didn't help considering that they were chewing each other up in the first place..

even though they are still very small, they have coloured up remarkably in the last two weeks. I can't wait until they really colour up as sub adults..and I can't wait for the filament barbs to get the long dorsals with the extentions (filaments) on them..
