Ok i need a little feedback/help. Do you think they way I have the tank that it will allow for water to be cycled through the tank. I have the intake for a canister in to the bulkhead on the left hand side from the back of the tank, and the spraybar on the right hand side. They are both in the overflow area of the tank I just want to make sure the the water is being moved through the tank. Here is a picture to make sure you can see what I am seeing. Also when I hooked up the canister it was pre cycled, I forgot to put prime in the tank. Could this have killed all the bacteria that was already in the filter. My water parameters are all out of wack, here is what they are. [FONT=&quot]nitrate 20, ph7.0, nitrite2.0, ammonia 1.0. To me it seems like the tank is going through a cycle again. Thanks for all of the help

If I understand correctly, only the surface water is being circulated. It is skimmed on the left to feed the canister, and then overflowed back into the tank on the right. This is not good. If your intake is on the top of the water, your return should be on the bottom (I would do it the other way around). This way water is completely turned over.

The water is not being skimmed, I get what you are saying. here lets see if this pic clears things up a little.
