16 gal bowfront community, 20 gal goldfish

i find it, frankly, rude to assume that i know nothing about fishkeeping. i'm not posting in the newbie forum, thank you.
I never assumed you didn't know anything, I simply noticed something I thought would be a problem for you and adressed it.

The flounder will die if doesn’t get brackish water. It is not my intention to be rude. All the fish can survive in their current conditions except him. I don’t think it was anyone’s intention to be rude. They just had the best intentions for your fishes wellbeing in mind. It is imposable to know everything there is about fish, I know I will prob sometime in the future buy a fish before researching it, post pics of its setup on this forum and find out I am wrong. Even though I wouldn’t be a newbie and it wasn’t my intention to house the fish wrong, I still did and should be corrected for the sake of the fish. From the research I have done they will be surviving but may not be the happiest in their current conditions. Not to unload my opinions on you I did a little research and, the common goldfish needs at least 40g or will be stunted and deformed. That’s for one but if one can live in a 40g more can too, they will survive they just wont thrive. Sorry if I came off rude, I would want someone to tell me this stuff If I was in your position.

I reckon great pics =) i like your goldfish . . . i think u should keep your bettas cause i guess they are like family to you :) and you don't sell away family :) :)

Thank you mandy.
And Jessu, it seems you just happened to miss this, in the Rules:

This is a froum to post pics of your tanks and list the specs of your tanks. You can link your page here to your signiture so anyone can click the link and see your tanks.
Lets keep all replys about the members tanks and keep the debate about wether or not the stocking is correct or any other problems you have with a members tank to Private Message. This is supposed to be a place to showcase your work so lets not bash other members for their skills or personal ideas of whats is over stocked and what isn't.
Thanks and have fun with the hobby,
Jeff

Please don't get discouraged! I think your tank pics are lovely. You seem to really care for your fish so just be on the look out for squabbles, especially with the Bettas. I have read on another site about this girl who was able to keep 2 male together. They were from the same fry and actually got along well! Freaky! Nice looking tanks and fish!

Nice pics... Not all "freshwater flounder" require brackish water. There are many species that are sold under that name, most need brackish water, but the range from needing full seawater to full on freshwater. I have one and it has thrived in a full freshwater setting for 1 year plus. Unless we can state a positive ID on the flounder, lets not speculate as to whether it will live or die.

I was just trying to help. You sound like you feel attacked and insulted. It was not my intention to do so. I know it can be discouraging when you want to give the best for your pets and cant. I know I felt discouraged when I found out my 5g tank was too small for my 3 goldfish..link. Theres updated pics at the end of the thred. Your tanks do look great and well decorated. I can tell you do care for your fish and have put thought in to their little world. By the way did you ever manage to convince your other half to get the 60?
