Ah gotcha.lol I could not keep track with the title imprinted on my mind.:duh: A BN is fine for a 20g along with a few otos and cherry shrimps. No, I meant in the 20G. I don't want the 10G anymore, I am getting a 20 gallon long now so I can put different varieties of fishes in it. And for my original question, Can I have 2-3 otos in a 20g with a BN pleco along with the cherry shrimp?
Can you re-name this thread to "20 gallon community tank"?
Any comments are apprecieated.
wrong on both accounts, i've seen over a dozen bettas peacefully housed with tetras. and while the male guppies are the most likely to be mistaken i've also seen them housed together as many times, i just wouldn't risk it.Male Bettas will often attack any fancy guppies that are in their tank, and when a betta attacks it generally kills. So no fancy guppies.
Neon tetras will often nip on a bettas flowing tail, it looks like food to them i guess.
In any case, they aren't very good tank mates.
sounds good to me.3 ADFs, 10 Neon Tetras, 5 Cherry Shrimp, 1 Bristlenose Pleco, 3 Otos, and a male Betta

standard 10g and 15g AGA tanks at the LFS every week for the last 3yrs, i've seen them in with neons, cardinals, pristellas rummy noses etc i've never heard of tetras picking on bettas, i could imagine some of the more nippy ones like black skirts but never neons. i've heard of a few occurances with male guppies but the owner just moves the betta over to a tetra tank. What was the size of the tank when you've seen both tetras and bettas work? What species were the tetras? As for the guppies, what size was the tank where you've seen them housed together many times?
