has the cork got soft yet? only thing that would be bad about it i can see is algae getting on it and you cant remove it since its cork and cant scrub it off.

Wow cant believe i missed out on this thread. The tank and cherry barbs look amazing Bill. You inspiring me to redo a tank or 2
oh, and regarding the top area:
I had thought I wanted to grow it in with HM or HC or something grassy. I still think about it, but I also think about how it could be cool with more ferns. haven't really made a decision yet, but did stick a few bits of HM in there to see how they do.

update: after medicating for several fish illnesses that remain uncured, the tank's biofilter was destroyed and brought on the worst algae attack I've ever had. I'd be embarrased to post pictures. it's been rough watching the downward spiral.

this is just a crappy close up of one infected area, which I trimmed a ton of growth from yesterday that had worse algae.
so sorry to hear mellow...this tank looked amazing just a few months ago
